Team Member Spotlight: Marilyn Hart, Customer Service Representative

With over 40 years of experience in manufacturing, one of the key components that sets Pentaflex Inc. apart from the rest is our people. Today, we would like to introduce you to Marilyn Hart, who is our Customer Service Representative at Pentaflex Inc.

We sat down with Marilyn and asked her a few questions about her role at Pentaflex, what she would still like to learn more about in her role, and her advice for students who are interested in a career in manufacturing.

Q: When did you start working at Pentaflex Inc.?

A: I started working for Pentaflex in August, 2021.

Q: Why did you decide to work at Pentaflex Inc.?

A: The reason I had decided to come work for Pentaflex is because it is a family run business. I had started my career at a family run business and truly enjoyed it. To me, a family run business is a more caring environment. You are not just a number among hundreds of other people. Here, we all know each other’s name.

Q: Please share more about what a normal day looks like for you at Pentaflex Inc.:

A: Being in Customer Service, I am the middle person between production and the customer. I have to keep the best interest of the company and the customer in mind. Sometimes that can be a juggling act, because I understand both sides.

My day starts out in the morning production meeting. This is a great way for me to start the day, because if there are any issues or questions, I can contact the customer right away and try to get things resolved before the die needs switched out in the machines. This is a process which takes time and not something that can be done immediately.

All day I am updating customers on their shipments and order requirements, letting them know if their order is shipping on time, or, if not, when it can ship.

Q: What is your favorite part about working at Pentaflex Inc.?

A:Hands down, my favorite part about working at Pentaflex is the people. Being a new person, there is a lot to learn and everyone has been very helpful.

Q: What is one thing you have learned more about since working here?

A: That no matter where you are working right now, every company is struggling with the same issues

Q: If someone is thinking about a career in manufacturing, what advice would you give them?

A: That what you do in your job does matter. Each part you make goes into an end product, whether it is a car, truck, tractor or medical equipment. Make sure what you produce is of the highest quality and standard. You never know, the part you are making today might be going into the vehicle you or a loved one might be driving tomorrow.

Q: Is there anything else you would like to share?

A: Every job can be stressful. Just remember it is business, not personal, and have fun! Laughter is the best stress reliever.
